Nature…Your physiology & the exercise gods themselves don’t actually care if you “enjoy” the exercise.
The complex mechanisms built into your body’s genes through hundreds of thousands of years to help the species survive a harsh world…..doesn’t adapt to “fun” or enjoyment.
Your body adapts to specific physiological stimuli.
It has no idea if you had fun doing it or not.
The problem is…
Many of the “fun” exercises people choose simply are not providing much of the STIMULUS a person might need to accomplish their specific goals…which doesn’t lead to adaptation.
When people do not see results…they will eventually quit exercise.
I have nothing against doing something you enjoy….but, more importantly, we do need to spend more time doing the exercises that give us the biggest bang for our exercise time!
